Brigitte likes nothing better than to squeal, howl, grunt, roar, squeak, and generally enter the animal kingdom, along with her young listeners. She can be found at the local “Y” and local libraries sharing stories from all over the world with very active potential young storytellers from kindergarten to grade six. For adult story lovers, she shares her passion for ancient myths, dramatic and boisterous medieval tales, along with folk tales, wisdom tales and legends.

Stéphanie Bénéteau is a bilingual storyteller and educator. She has performed and taught storytelling in more than 75 schools in the Montreal area and appeared at the Montreal Intercultural Storytelling Festival, the Ottawa Storytelling Festival and on CBC radio. Stéphanie has presented storytelling workshops at the Canadian Literacy Conference, the Montreal Teachers’ Convention, the Quebec Library Association and others.

Rosalyn Cohen is a well known Montreal storyteller, workshop leader, festival organizer and early childhood educator who is a founding member of the Montreal Storytellers Guild and SC/CC Storytellers of Canada.

She has told stories at festivals, conferences, for organizations and schools in Ireland, China, Cuba, Israel, Wales, the United States and Canada. She tells multicultural and Jewish tales of wisdom and wit that illuminate the past and serve as a guide to a better world.

Nancy Eddis has been telling stories in English for 15 years and is a member of the Storytellers of Canada and the Montreal Storytellers Guild. She has been telling a variety of tales for people of all ages in many settings, including libraries, schools, churches, retirement homes, community centres and storytelling festivals.

At the age of five, Austrian-born Christine found the hidden entrance to fairyland, and has been telling stories ever since.

Now, as a grandmother, she spins her yarn, weaving it around you, inviting you to enter her tales: tales of wisdom and wonder – the wisdom of laughter, the sheer wonder of being alive….

She tells in both English and French at the Montreal Storytellers’ Guild, au Cercle des Conteurs de Montréal, in cafés and bars, parks and senior centers, at festival and fundraising events, and to the children at her parish.



Jack Nissenson

Jack Nissenson was born in Montreal on February 1933. he began singing folk music and playing guitar sometime in the early 50s of the last century. Since then he has performed as a soloist and in groups. For about ten years Jack was a member of a group called the Mountain City Fans, which included Kate and Anna McGarrigle and Peter Weldon.

About 25 years ago, Jack discovered storytelling while being in Toronto.

Jack has sung and told stories in coffee houses, concert halls as well as various festivals, including the Mariposa Folk Music Festival and the Toronto Storytelling Festival among others.

Paola Tonelli

Paola Tonelli is a Montrealer and a librarian who has loved books ever since her mother read to her about Pinocchio. As a member of the Montreal Storytellers' Guild, she has been telling regularly since 2002. She enjoys learning about different cultures and is equally at ease in telling in English, French or Italian to audiences of all ages. Through the power of imagination, she believes that storytelling fills a deep-seated human need to understand ourselves and our world better.
